Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Executive Trainees program, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Qualification: BE/B Tech/B Sc (Engineering)/5-year Integrated M.Tech. or M.E. with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in Industrial & Fire Safety discipline from a recognized university/institute.
  • Accepted Engineering Disciplines: Various disciplines related to Industrial & Fire Safety as specified.
  • Age Limit: As on 26/03/2024
    • General/EWS: Maximum 26 years
    • OBC (NCL): Maximum 29 years
    • SC: Maximum 31 years
    • Dependents of those who died in riots of 1984 (Dep 1984): Maximum 31 years
    • Ex-servicemen and commissioned officers: Maximum 31 years

Training:

  • Selected candidates will undergo one year of orientation training at NPCIL Training facilities.
  • The training stream, venue, and duration are subject to NPCIL’s discretion.

Placement:

Upon successful completion of training, Executive Trainees (ETs) may be posted at any DAE establishment, location in India, or abroad as per organizational requirements.

Stipend During Training:

  • Monthly Stipend: Rs. 55,000/-
  • One-time Book Allowance: Rs. 18,000/-
  • Mandatory Lodging & Boarding: Provided by NPCIL

Pay on Appointment as SO/C:

After training, Executive Trainees will be appointed as Scientific Officer/C (Group ‘A’).

  • Grade: Scientific Officer/C
  • Pay Level in the Pay Matrix: Level 10
  • Pay in the Pay Matrix: Rs. 56,100/-
  • Dearness Allowance (DA): 46% of Pay in the Pay Matrix (as on 01.01.2024)

Selection Process:

The selection process for ET-2024 (I&FS discipline) consists of two stages:

Stage I – Written/Online/OMR Test:

  • Time allotted: 120 Minutes
  • Number of Questions: 100
  • Marking System: 3 marks for each correct answer, -1 mark for each wrong answer
  • Qualifying Marks for Test:
    • UR category: 100 marks
    • Reserved category (SC/OBC(NCL)/EWS): 90 marks
  • Topics covered include Fire Engineering Fundamentals, Fire Fighting Chemicals, Fire Detection & Control, Fire Protection, Safety Management, and more.

Stage II – Personal Interview:

  • Shortlisting ratio: 1:12 based on written/online/OMR test marks
  • Final selection based on performance in the Personal Interview, subject to medical fitness
  • No weightage given to written/online/OMR test marks during the final selection

Interview Schedule & Venue:

Interviews tentatively scheduled from the 2nd week of June 2024. Shortlisted candidates will be notified via Email regarding the interview date, time, and venue.

Verification of Original Documents:

Original documents to be verified at the time of the interview, including Date of Birth proof, Qualification certificates, Category certificates, etc.
