The NHSRC, under the Central Mental Health Authority (CMHA), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoH&FW), is seeking applications for the position of Consultant – Mental Health. This role offers a platform to make a significant impact on mental health service delivery at the national level.

Qualifications & Experience

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • A Post Graduate Degree/Diploma in Social Work, Public Health, Psychiatric Social Work, or Psychology.
  • Proficiency in computer skills and Office software.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience post obtaining the Post Graduate degree, working in National Programs administered by the Government at the National/State level.

Job Responsibilities

As a Consultant – Mental Health, you will be responsible for:

ResponsibilitiesDetails
Registering Mental Health EstablishmentsMaintain a register of all mental health establishments, develop norms for quality and service provision.
Supervision & Complaint HandlingAssist in supervising mental health establishments, receive and address complaints about service deficiencies.
Maintaining RegistersMaintain a national register of mental health professionals and publish the list online.
Advisory RoleProvide advice to the Central Government on mental healthcare and services.
Program ParticipationOrganize and participate in various program workshops, review meetings, and expert groups.
Resource PersonContribute as a resource person in conducting central training programs for trainers and specialists.
Other Assigned TasksFulfill any additional responsibilities as assigned by the Reporting Officer/Central Mental Health Authority.

Remuneration & Age Limit

  • Remuneration: Rs. 1,10,000/- per month with a fixed annual increase of 5 percent.
  • Age Limit: Up to 45 years.
